To help you get started, the New Student Conference (NSC) is a two-day orientation program required of all new undergraduate students. Howdy Week is Aggieland’s official Week of Welcome for new and returning students and takes place in the days before classes begin at Texas A&M University each fall semester. Howdy Week is a campus and community wide effort and collaboration designed to help connect Aggies to a wide array of activities, organizations and important information to jump start their year in Aggieland. The Family Weekend Committee is a student organization responsible for the coordination and planning of Family Weekend. Family Weekend is a tradition that has existed at Texas A&M University since 1919 and is an opportunity for Aggie students to express their gratitude to their families and friends who support them through the academic journey. The Aggie Orientation Leader Program (AOLP) is a student organization made up of over 150 student leaders who volunteer their time to assist in welcoming new students and their families to Aggieland during New Student Conferences. Orientation Leaders seek to create an atmosphere that minimizes anxiety, promotes positive attitudes, and stimulates excitement for learning in all Texas A&M students. During the New Student Conferences, Orientation Leaders (OLs) can be easily identified by their distinctive maroon polos, welcoming smiles, and their desire to help make the conference a memorable and fun experience.
