Peer Educator Responsibilities
Benefits of Being a Peer Educator
The Ideal Peer Educator
Join Aggie Elevate

Aggie Elevate is a peer education program dedicated to enhancing the overall health, balance, and success of the student body. Peer educators serve to support Health Promotion staff in educational programming and outreach activities.

Commit an average of 2-3 hours per week during fall and spring semesters to Aggie Elevate involvement, including:

  • Attending weekly group meetings (Wednesdays, 5:30 – 6:30 p.m.)
  • Attending a required one-day weekend training each semester (this semester: Sunday, Feb. 12)
  • Completing online NASPA Certified Peer Educator training
  • Providing resources and engaging students during outreach events
  • Facilitating wellness presentations to student groups
  • Assisting Health Promotion with special projects as needed
  • Become a NASPA Certified Peer Educator (a nationally recognized certification)
  • Gain skills in:
    • Public speaking
    • Event planning
    • Implementing health initiatives
  • Meet other students who share similar passions
  • Develop professional relationships with Health Promotion staff
  • Gain volunteer hours

Note: no dues are required of Aggie Elevate members!

  • Is passionate about helping others, reducing stigma, and promoting social justice
  • Demonstrates an openness to learning and growing
  • Practices effective time management and communication skills
  • Displays team-oriented behavior
  • Models healthy habits for peers
