Baylor Scott & White Medical Center

The Sexual Assault and Violence Response Team and Child Protection Team at Baylor Scott & White Health provide compassionate, sensitive, timely care for victims of violent crimes, child abuse and neglect. The forensic nurse is available 24 hours a day for consultation. This is currently the only medical facility local to Bryan-College Station that can complete a full forensic exam with evidence collection.

Scotty's House

Scotty's House provides safety, healing, and justice for children victimized by abuse through professional assessment, counseling, and education in a compassionate and collaborative approach. This resource provides service aspects that are confidential, but due to the fact that the services focus on abuse and neglect of minors, reports to CPS are mandatory. Privacy is protected in this reporting process.

Twin City Mission Domestic Violence Services

Confidential

Twin City Mission’s Domestic Violence Program provides services to victims of domestic violence and dating violence in Brazos Valley. Services are provided at no cost and include shelter, counseling, case management, legal advocacy, safety planning, and career assistance. Victims and their children in need of emergency shelter are referred to Phoebe’s Home, a 24-hour emergency shelter providing nutritional meals, laundry facilities, daily needs (toiletries, clothing), transportation, and recreational activities for residents. Victims who are not seeking emergency shelter can receive nonresidential services in their county of residence at no cost.

Pride Community Center

Through collaboration and consensus, the Pride Community Center strives to support and empower individuals of all sexual orientations, gender identities and expressions, and allied persons of the Brazos Valley. It also provides outreach and education to the public at large which will (1) lead to greater safety, comfort, understanding and respect for all, (2) lessen social tension, and (3) promote harmony between the Community and the citizenry as a whole.

The Sexual Assault Resource Center's (SARC's) mission is to end the cycle of violence in the Brazos Valley through education, empowerment, and advocacy. SARC provides 24/7 crisis counseling to survivors, their family members, and friends; free individual and group counseling services; and education & outreach services.

UnBound Bryan College Station

Unbound Bryan College Station supports survivors and resources our community to fight human trafficking in the Brazos Valley. Unbound was founded in 2012 through Antioch Community Church in Waco, Texas. Since then, Unbound has expanded into a network of chapters and anti-human trafficking projects around the world. Unbound provides 24/7 survivor advocacy referrals, free community trainings, and volunteer opportunities.

TMPH Health Provider Search

Texas Medicad and Healthcare Partnership (TMHP) is a group of contractors under the leadership of Accenture. Accenture administers Texas Medicaid and other state health-care programs on behalf of the Texas Health and Human Services Commission. TMHP will allow you to search for a doctor, hospital, or other participating health care provided that accepts Texas Medicaid insurance.

Texas Health Steps

Texas HealthSteps coordinates free medical and dental checkups to people under age 21 who have Medicaid.  Eligible treatments for transportation include:

  • case management
  • hearing tests
  • health advice

Voices for Children CASA of Brazos Valley

Voices for Children currently has a mentoring program called UP. The Unlimited Potential Program is a new program developed by Voices for Children, Inc. to empower current and former foster youth ages 16 and older to reach their full potential through education, individualized support, and integration with community members and community resources.

Unlimited Potential (UP) Mentoring Program

UP’s mission is to empower transitioning foster youth through programs that offer individualized support, education, and community resources to become fully independent young adults. UP serves youth 18-25 who have aged out of the foster care system.

Foster Angels

Foster Angels provides immediate assistance to foster children in the form of basic needs (clothing, food, beds, medical expenses, transportation, education) and life-enhancing experiences (birthday parties, camp, sports and the arts).

Brazos Valley Council of Governments Housing Choice Voucher Program

The Housing Choice Voucher Program is a federally-funded program that helps provide housing assistance to low-income families. Check online to see if you qualify or contact Karla Flanagan.

Texas Medicaid Program

If you are 21 or older, the Texas Medicaid Program Client Hotline can provide information on Medicaid benefits, lists of Medicaid providers, health plans, and other general information, including the process for filing complaints about Medicaid health care providers or health plans. Students who take part in a State or federally financed work study program or who work at least 20 hours a week may be eligible for SNAP food benefits.

Texas Youth Hotline

The Texas Youth Hotline helps young adults under 21 years of age who have aged out of the foster care system locate services available in their communities.  Contact the statewide hotline for telephone counseling and information and referrals.

Aggieland Pregnancy Outreach 

APO serves women and teens with free pregnancy, parenting, and adoption resources. A maternity housing program is currently underway and expected to open in summer/fall 2025. Free services include pregnancy testing, materials, social service referrals, classes, counseling, support groups, mentorship, and community. Walk-ins are welcome.
