Required Education & Sanctions

"*" indicates required fields

Student Life offers several educational sanction options for referring offices such as the Student Conduct Office, Residence Life, Corps of Cadets and others. We offer the Alcohol Education Workshop, Drug Education meetings, Brief Alcohol Screening and Intervention for College Students (BASICS), and individualized meetings with Student Life staff. Details regarding these programs can be found on the Presentations page.

These educational opportunities are regularly offered to students who need to fulfill Student Conduct Office sanctions, but any Texas A&M student is encouraged to attend if they would like to. Students should come prepared to participate and engage in a respectful dialogue with your peers and/or facilitator, as well as come prepared to discuss issues surrounding alcohol, drugs, or other health behaviors on college campuses.

Facilitators maintain the right to not issue a mark of completion due to lack of participation. Proof of completion will be sent to the referring office within one week of completion of the workshop. Copies of completion may be requested.

Missed Workshop/No-Show Policy

If you are unable to attend your workshop, please notify Student Life as soon as possible. Failure to provide 24 hours’ notice for a reschedule based on a non-University-approved excuse (see Student Rule 07) will be noted as a missed workshop. Missed workshops also include being late, lack of participation in the workshop, and failure to bring your fully and appropriately-completed homework assignments to your workshop.

1. Answer all questions honestly. The assessment results are only used in the workshop and are not shared outside Student Life.

2. Write down the date, time, and location of the workshop you registered for. It is your responsibility to keep track of this information and you will not receive any reminders prior to the date of your workshop. If there are any changes to the workshop, you will be notified via your official Texas A&M University email account (@tamu.edu) and/or the telephone number you provide during registration.

3. Do not complete this web form more than once. If you are unable to attend the workshop you registered for please contact Student Life at (979) 845-0280 or [email protected] to reschedule.

4. Your presence and engagement are pertinent to this workshop being educational and reflective, and facilitators aim to be conscientious of your time. If you are more than 10 minutes late for your workshop, you may be asked to reschedule to another workshop at the discretion of the workshop facilitator.

5. It is your responsibility to meet the deadline provided to you by the referring office; there is no guarantee if you reschedule that there will be an available space in another workshop by your due date. NOTE: Student Life CANNOT provide class excuses for attending workshops.

If you need accommodations for the workshop or workbook, please contact Student Life at 979. 845.0280 or [email protected].
