Women's Leadership & Equity
Elect Her: Aggie Women Win encourages and trains college women to run for student government and future political office. During this one-day training, participants practice hands-on campaign skills, hear from inspiring speakers, and discuss research on women in government.
In Her Own Words is a program of the Women’s Resource Center that uses a non-traditional approach to the study of women and women’s issues. The Book Club aims to unite all Aggies of all majors and genders who share a passion for acquiring and sharing information about women by providing an avenue in which students, faculty, and staff can engage in discussions and analyses of relevant literary works.
Recognized by the United Nations as a global day dedicated to women's rights and international peace, International Women's Day serves to recognize the political, economic, and social achievements of women throughout the world.
Start Smart salary negotiation workshops empower college women who are starting their careers to overcome the gender wage gap and teach them to benchmark and negotiate for fair and equitable salaries upon graduation. Each workshop is 2 hours long and gives participants resources for benchmarking reasonable salaries and benefits, negotiation skills that teach women how to aim high and be realistic including practice through role play.
March is Women's History Month. In addition to the programs that the Women's Resource Center hosts in conjunction with its partners, the Center puts out an annual Women's History Month Calendar which documents presentations and programs celebrating women.
The Women's Progress Awards have been honoring Texas A&M University students, staff, faculty, and administrators who encourage and promote sensitivity to and awareness of issues that relate to women in since 1994.
