Off Campus Living Resources

 

Because people desire their living environment to be as relaxed and as comfortable as possible, this page lists sites that give specific information for special concerns along with information involving the Bryan/College Station community that is good for any resident of the area to know.

Accessibility for Disabled Students
Sometimes, there are specific needs and concerns for persons with disabilities. Some properties offer different features to accommodate their tenants with special needs.  Information about accessibility on off campus properties in collected in the AggieSearch online database.

Disability Services
Disability Services (DS) provides services to students with disabilities to insure accessibility to university programs. DS offers accommodations counseling, evaluation referral, disability-related information, adaptive technology counseling and equipment, and interpreter services for academically related purposes. DS does not offer disability evaluation and/or testing, tutoring, personal expenses, attendants or scholarships.

Aggie Search
An online database to search for roommates and housing in the Bryan/College Station area.  You can also place your own listing for free.

An Aggie Budget
Information developed to help students work out a semester/monthly budget that they can realistically follow. A budget worksheet will help in the planning and tracking of expenses each semester.

BEE A Good Neighbor
Texas A&M University and the City of College Station work together to make students more aware of city codes and common violations.   Learn more about what you can do to BEE a good neighbor.

Community Block Parties are hosted in conjunction with each community's police, code enforcement, fire department, emergency management, recycling, neighborhood services with the city and county, and respective neighborhood associations.

There are a number of different opportunities for off campus students to get involved.

Lease Information & Tenant/Management Issues
Resources designed to assist you in upholding the expectations that are established for you as a tenant. By following the guidelines and suggestions that are highlighted, you can be sure to make the relationship that you have with your management a productive and professional one.

Local Utilities Information
Information on contacting the local electric, telephone, gas, and cable companies.

Locator Services
Several apartment locator services are available for students in the Bryan/College Station area. Locators offer their services free of charge.

Managing Conflict

Legal Services For Students
A licensed attorney and legal assistant are available in Student Conflict Resolution Services to provide legal information and advice to students. Information and counseling are available regarding a variety of legal matters including landlord/tenant disputes, consumer protection, auto accidents, family criminal and business law. Services are available FREE to currently enrolled students at Texas A&M University.

Mediation Services for Students
Mediation Services provides students with assistance in resolving a variety of personal disputes. A network of trained individuals who can act to negotiate or mediate situations is available.

Mobile Home Park Guide
This listing provides information on the local mobile home guidelines. It includes the number of lots available, the amount of the deposit that is required, the amount of rent per month as well as what utilities are included. It lists whatever restrictions might exist and tells if the park rents mobile homes. This site also lists if the park is near a shuttle bus route and if the park allows pets.

Transportation Services (Bus Service and Parking)
Texas A&M University’s Transportation Services (TS) provides a variety of options that help students, faculty, and staff get to and around campus efficiently. These transportation options include riding the on or off campus shuttles (no pass is required to use bus service), parking on campus, or riding a bike to or around campus.  If you have further questions, please call (979) 862-PARK (7275).
