Adult, Graduate & Off Campus Student Services is now accepting applications and nominations for the Spring 2008 class of the Pinnacle National Honor Society. Pinnacle is a national honor society to recognize non-traditional students for their academic and co-curricular accomplishments. Texas A&M University has been a chartered institutional member since 1995.
Minimum standards for members:
- Must have junior (U3), senior (U4), post-baccalaureate (U5) or graduate (G6, G7, G8) student status
- Minimum cumulative grade point average (GPR)
- 3.0 for undergraduates
- 3.4 for graduate students
- Undergraduates must be non-traditional (at least 25 years of age OR married, parents, veterans, disabled or another situation that classifies them as non-traditional student)
- Have been involved in at least (3) campus and/or community activities during their time as a student
- Demonstrated leadership, persistence and future promise
- Maintain the highest ethical standards
Should an applicant be selected there is a one-time due payment of $20 for each new inductee once they have accepted their membership offer. The dues primarily go to paying for certificates, membership pins, diploma seals and postage. Pinnacle also assures that members will never be solicited to purchase anything as a result of membership. Dues will not be collected until after the selection process when an applicant has been offered membership.
The Spring 2008 deadline for application & nominations forms is Thursday, February 28, 2008. Please take some time to consider applying or nominating someone to be recognized by Pinnacle.
