Adult, Graduate and Off Campus Student Services partners with
College Station and Bryan to host block parties as part of its university /
community outreach initiative, the Bee A Good Neighbor Campaign.
The block parties are hosted in conjunction with each
community's police, code enforcement, fire department, emergency management,
recycling, neighborhood services with the city and county, and respective
neighborhood associations. The block parties bring residents together to join
their neighbors for free hamburgers, activities for the kids, a time to chat and get
to know one another, and avail themselves of community resource opportunities
such as MADD, TABC, Red Cross, the health department, and public safety
department to name only a few, and to mix and mingle with TAMU departments,
administrators, city staff, and city government.
