Concerned about a Friend?
 

If you are concerned that someone close to you may have a drug or alcohol problem, you should contact Alcohol and Drug Education Programs to determine how best to handle the situation. Some signs that someone may be engaging in high risk behavior on a regular basis are listed below.

  • Talk among students about "the group drunk"
  • Stacks of beer cans in room
  • Trash cans in hall full of empty beer cans
  • Odor of alcohol on the same person numerous times
  • Grades, class and study time reduced
  • Person going out on week nights and returning under the influence
  • Sleeping in late - missing early classes
  • Bragging about drinking events or games
  • Inappropriate loudness
  • Belligerence when confronted about behavior
  • Extreme weight loss
  • Dramatic change in mood
